Daytime Talk Show Host's Fashion Collection Hits Home Run on Cable's HSNThanks to Leading Entertainment Industry Brand-Builder

NEW YORK, N.Y. (April 8, 2015) - Wendy Williams, one of America's favorite daytime talk show hosts, hit a home run March 28, successfully launching her exclusive new fashion collection during a four-hour appearance on Home Shopping Network (HSN). Williams' debut attracted a record number of new customers to HSN

"We expect Wendy Williams to be one of America's top brands,” said Charles Koppelman, a leading brand-building figure in the entertainment industry, who took just under a year to orchestrate the manufacturing of Williams' apparel line and negotiate the deal between the Emmy nominated daytime talk show host and HSN. "That's because Wendy has a style unto herself. Her fans see her every day and they trust her. They want to emulate her.”

Developing successful celebrity-retail partnerships is nothing new for Koppelman, who has spent the better part of his 40-year career building brands in the media and entertainment industries.

Koppelman's New York-based brand management firm, C.A.K. Entertainment, Inc., has handled marketing, brand development and advisory work for artists and companies, including Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Adam Levine, Nicki Minaj andthe world's greatest collector car auctioneer Barrett-Jackson.

In 2013, Koppelman consulted and negotiated celebrity apparel and accessory lines for both Nicki Minaj and Adam Levine. These lines launched in Kmart stores and on the company's online platform, Shop Your Way. Koppelman also orchestrated the partnership between Nicki Minaj and MYX Fusions Moscato, a premium Moscatowine. He also negotiated for Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, what is considered to be one of the largest celebrity apparel lines to date. Both lines launchednationwide in the fall of 2011 for Kohl's Department Stores and continue to see upward success.

"When you're a music celebrity, your fans are used to spending money on you. They go to your shows. They want to look like you. They want to be like you. You become part of their life. So it's a no-brainer that the audience, if the products are right, will respond to that,” he said.

Koppelman served six years as executive chairman and principal executive officer of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO), where he met Stephanie Roberts, Managing Director of C.A.K. Entertainment, who spearheaded the launch of The Wendy Williams Collection for HSN. He played a central role in guiding MSLOthrough a period of challenges and into an era of diversification and expansion, forging new business relationships that renewed and strengthened MSLO's dominant position in consumer and lifestyle media and merchandising.

He also served as chairman of the board of Steve Madden Ltd., the shoe company. He was primarily responsible for the successful management of the company during Madden's absence.

Koppelman's achieved his business acumen largely in the music industry, where he became known as one of the industry's most insightful and successful leaders. He established and led a series of highly successful independent music publishing and record production companies and held key management roles at CBS Records,Columbia Records, EMI Music Publishing and EMI Music Group North America.

He has played a major role in the successful recording careers of Barbra Streisand, Tracy Chapman, Dolly Parton, Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross, the Four Tops, Cher,Michael Bolton, New Kids on the Block, Wilson Phillips, and Vanilla Ice, among others.

In addition to running C.A.K. Entertainment, Koppelman also serves on the boards of directors of the Las Vegas Sands Corp. and Six Flags Entertainment Corp.
